Ben Affleck to direct and star as BATMAN

The movie will be an original story that pulls in certain elements from the comics.
The three features he’s directed so far have all been nominated for Oscars and he’s not interested in taking on a movie without a great script.
Geoff Johns – who recently went on record promoting DC Rebirth by saying he wants to bring hope and optimism to the DC brand – is helping Affleck develop BATMAN but the script that’s complete isn’t up to scratch just yet and because of it Affleck believes he won’t make the unannounced release date Warner Bros. has in mind.
Ben Affleck: I think they have a date for it. Although, I don’t know if I would necessarily be able to make that date because I don’t have a script that’s ready yet. I’m not going to make a movie until there’s a script that I think is good because I’ve been on the end of things when you make movies when you have a script that’s not good yet and it doesn’t pan out. [laughs]
Ben Affleck: I have a script, we’re still working on it, and I’m not happy enough with it yet to actually go out there and make a BATMAN movie, for which I have the highest of standards, I would say. That’s something that would have to pass a very high bar for me. It’s not just like, “yeah, that might be fun, let’s go try this out.”
If Ben Affleck is now involved and judging by his portrayal of the BATMAN in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" I think this is the best news for any true BATMAN fan!
I think this will be EPIC!
